Trojan Varsity Head Coaches


Neil Bailey
Director of Athletics

Walsingham's AD since 2013, Coach Bailey brings an established track record as a winning basketball coach, having compiled a record of 226-106 at East Georgia State College, Middlesex High School, and Oak Hill Academy. He was named 2013 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year after leading EGSC to a 31-3 record. At Walsingham, he has led the Trojans to the VISAA State Tournament in both 2014 and 2015.


Billy Barnes
Boys Basketball Head Coach

Coach Barnes' illustrious coaching career at Walsingham includes over 400 wins, four TCIS regular season conference championships, and one TCIS tournament championship. He was recongized as State of Virginia Coach of the Year for Division II privates schools in both 2005 and 2014. Coach Barnes was a team captain as a player for the College of William & Mary, and he was inducted into the William & Mary Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.


George Bottles |
Volleyball Head Coach

A staple in the Williamsburg volleyball coaching community since 1999, Coach Bottles led the Trojans to the state tournament in his first season as coach in 2014. Coach Bottles is currently CAP Level II certified through USA Volleyball, Gold Medal Squared Certified, and is an American Volleyball Coaches Association mentor coach, as well as certified Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Double-Goal Coach.


Emma Clifton
Field Hockey Head Coach

Emma Clifton joins Walsingham for her first season in 2016 after a decorated college career at The College of William & Mary. Clifton accumulated 57 points in 69 career games for the Tribe from 2011-2014, and her 25 career assists are the most in program history. She earned All-CAA Rookie honors in 2011 and All-CAA 1st Team honors in 2014. Coach Clifton also teaches in Walsingham's Lower School.


Jenaye Coleman
Girls Lacrosse Head Coach |

Jenaye Coleman joins Walsingham for her first season in 2017. Coleman competed collegiality at Marquette, serving as a three-year captain and twice earning All-Big East Academic Team honors. She was an assistant coach at Apple Valley High School from 2012-2015, helping guide the Eagles to a 3rd place finish in the Minnesota State High School League Tournament. Coach Coleman works at the College of William & Mary.


Kevin Darcy
Girls Soccer Head Coach

2015 marks the first season for Kevin Darcy as head of the Girls Soccer program. Darcy brings over 20 years of club, collegiate and professional coaching experience to Walsingham. He currently serves as Head Coach the Virginia Legacy 76 NPSL team and as Technical Director for the Elite Training Academy (ETA). Darcy played at Old Dominion and Salisbury, as well as professionally in the USISL D3 Pro League and the “A” League.


Kim Davenport
Boys Tennis Head Coach

Coach Davenport took over the Boys Tennis progam in 2013 after a long tenure as the Girls Tennis head coach. Her coaching career includes stops as a coach at the College of William & Mary, George Washington University, and Christopher Newport University. Coach Davenport also teaches physical education for Upper School girls.


Will Gibson |
Girls Tennis Head Coach

Coach Gibson took over the Girls Tennis program in 2016 after serving as the JV Coach in 2015. A decorated club player at the College of William & Mary, Coach Gibson also serves as Walsingham's Campus Minister.


Ian Heisel
Baseball Head Coach

Coach Heisel has served as head of the baseball program since 2010 and has led the Trojans to its first state playoff appearance in 2013, its first state playoff victory in 2014, the 2015 state championship game, and the 2016 TCIS championship game. He was an all-conference pitcher at the California University of Pennsylvania, and has four seasons of minor league experience. Coach Heisel also works as an instructor with Virginia Venom.


Jenna Heuser
Swimming Head Coach

Coach Hesuer has helmed the Walsingham swimming program since 2010. A graduate of William & Mary, she has also coached the Greensprings Gators Swim Club since 2005, helping to build the program from 35 swimmers to 155. In 2013, the program won its first Vrginia Peninsula Swimming Union Championship.


Rich Higgins |
Cross Country, Track & Field Head Coach

Coach Higgins has been coaching Cross Country and Track & Field at Walsingham since Spring 2009. He has lead Girls Track & Field to the 2015 State Championship and a share of the 2016 State Championship, Girls Cross Country to the 2015 TCIS Championship and 2015 State Catholic Championship, and Boys Track & Field to state runner-up status in 2015.


Richard Plank |
Boys Soccer Head Coach

Coach Plank, who also serves as Director of Admissions, has coached the Boys Soccer team since since 2013, leading the Trojans to the 2015 VISAA State Tournament. He has previously served as an assistant coach for The Winchendon School, helping guide the team to a NEPSAC Class B Championship and a top four seed for the NEPSAC Class A tournament.


Ebor Ross |
Sailing Head Coach

Coach Ross has served as head of the Walsingham Sailing program since 2014 after nearly a decade as Head Coach at Smithfield High School. Coach Ross focuses on in race tactics and teach respect for the waterways, environment, sealife, and individuals.
